Shenzhen Universtiy held a seriers activities of “Year of Sino-Indian Friendship, 2006 · Festival of India”.

The Festival of India of SZU received great supports from some relevant institutes and celebrities of both China and India. Prof. Ji Xianlin, Master of Chinese culture and distinguished Chinese Indologist, Prof. G. K. Chadha, the eminent Indian economist, economic adviser of the Prime Minister of India and the former vice-chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Dr. Karan Singh, Chairman of ICCR, Prof. Sun Peijun, the President of  Chinese Association for South Asian Studies, Prof. Tan Chung, famous Chinese American Indologist, Mr. Jairam Ramesh, famous Indian economist and Minister of State for Commerce , Prof. Huang Baosheng, the President of the Chinese Association of Foreign Literature and the President of Chinese Association of Indian Literature Studies, and Mr. Sun Yuxi, Ambassador of China to India sent the Messages of Congratulations for this great festival. The Embassy of the Republic of India in China also provided Indian movies.

During the festival, three speeches were delivered, which were, Interpretation of CHINDIA by Prof. Yu longyu, director of the Centre for Indian Studies of SZU, Rabindranath Tagore and China by Prof. Dong Youchen and Experiencing the Sino-Indian Friendship by Mr. Cheng Ruisheng, the former Chinese Ambassador to India.
