 On Nov. 29, 2007, Mr. Gautam Bambawale, Consulate General of India, Guangzhou, visited SZU and the Centre.

     

 On Aug. 3, 2007, at the invitation of the Indian Embassy, Director and Professor Yu Longyu organized two groups of more than 100 teachers and students of SZU to visit the exhibition of Treasures of Ancient India in Nanyuewang Museum in Guangzhou.

    

 On April 25-27, 2007, SZU and the Chinese Association for South Asian Studies jointly hosted the International Seminar on Sino-Indian Relations and the Annual Convention of the Chinese Association for South Asian Studies at Shenzhen. Discussion topics included Sino-Indian relations after President Hu Jintao’s visit to India, meanings of and responses to CHINDIA, Sino-Indian cooperative strategic partnership etc.

     

 In April, 2007, the Centre published the second book of Sino-Indian Studies Series, CHINDIA: Idealism and Realization, with Prof. Tan Chung as the chief editor, Liu Zhaohua and Huang Rong as the vice editor, published by Ningxia People’s Press.

     

 On Mar. 30, 2007, a group of 19 people, including teachers and students from four universities which belonged to the ATHARVA Educational Foundation of India, and principals from the India-China Business Association, visited SZU.

      

 In Jan., 2007, the former director of the Chinese Department of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Prof. Sabaree Mitre, visited SZU and delivered a speech on The English Writers of India in the 20th Century.
