On Aug. 15, 2012, Prof. Yu Longyu, Director of CIS, Ms. Wang Bi, research secretary and Ms. Lin Heng were invited by the Consulate General of India, Guangzhou to attend the Celebrating Reception of the 65th Anniversary of India’s Independence Day in Shangri-La Hotel, Guangzhou. During the reception, Prof. Yu presented Mr. I. M. Pandey, the Consul General of India in Guangzhou, with a calligraphy “香象大吉” which means auspicious India and was written by the calligrapher Mr. Huang Ziliang.

 On June 12, 2012, Prof. Suman Chatterjee of Techno India Group visited SZU. SZU’s International Office then arranged him to visit Tan Yunshan Sino-Indian Friendship Museum.

 On June 12, 2012, Mr. I. M. Pandey, the Consul General of India in Guangzhou, and Mr. Dhiraj Mukhia, the Consul (Culture and Information), visited SZU and signed Memorandum of Understanding Made and Entered into by and between Indian Council for Cultural Relations and Shenzhen University on the Establishment of the ICCR Chair of Humanities & Social Sciences (from June 12, 2012 to Jan. 31, 2016) with SZU’s president Prof. Zhang Bigong.

 On Mar. 2, 2012, Prof. Yu Longyu, director of CIS and Ms. Huang Rong was invited to attend the Award Ceremony of the Tagore Essay Competition in Guangzhou. It was organized by Jinan University and the Consulate General of India, Guangzhou.
